It’s time for the next installment of our blog circle and this months word was Meraki, which means to do something with soul, creativity or love; when you leave a piece of yourself in your work. When I first read it I was like, wow! This one may be hard, so because I couldn’t decide how to start, I decided I would spend this month just being spontaneous with my photography, and by that I mean just taking each day as it came and seeing what inspired me on that day. As the month wore on I began to realise that this challenge was not really a challenge at all, it’s my aim as a photographer and it’s something I strive to do each and every time I pick up my camera. As an artist it is something we all strive to portray, a piece of us, a glimpse into how we look at things, the world, the people we love and the places we go. I think it’s one of the reasons I’m so attracted to photography, it’s a wonderful medium to express yourself, your soul and I have learned something about myself this month. Something that makes me happy.
I have learned that I leave a piece of me in my pictures almost eveytime I pick up my camera, which really is not that difficult considering most of the time, I am actually taking pictures of the pieces of my heart that walk around on this earth disguised as my children. I hope you enjoy these images, I have chosen them because they have resonated with my soul íon some way and for that reason as long as the photograph exists, so will a part of me.
Next along the blog circle is Rebecca Spencer, I can’t wait to see what she has in store! Make sure you follow the link to see for yourself.
